Challenge Myself: Day#31 A Giving Heart

Today is Day #31 of our Nar Anon Group Just For Today Challenge. I am also integrating the Live Happy into my Challenge. The Live Happy Challenge for today is to help your favorite giving from your heart to charity.

The book says,

Let us continue to give abundantly. That which we are willing
to receive abundantly- Eleesha

Want to live a more virtuous life, but you're not the type to do spontaneous acts of kindness or generosity?

Then think of your favorite charitable cause, put together a list of charities that work on behalf of that cause, and call to offer what resources you can to help it's work.

Few charitable organizations would turn away a volunteer. On the contrary, charities generally need people willing to donate their time and expertise. You can live your life focused on yourself or you can choose the higher path and offer part of your life in work for the betterment of others less fortunate.

When performing everyday charitable acts, your life takes on meaning and purpose.

Right now here are a few to help

The Newness of Life in Huntington, WV is in need of some items for the new house that it will be opening soon. They need your help with the following donations:

Any household items, appliances, furniture (except for beds), cleaning supplies, bed linens, and specifically an electric stove, refrigerator, and window unit air conditioners. Please contact Justin @ Newness of Life for any help in any way possible

Other ideas for giving and helping:

• Many of those who are recovering in Huntington have no family. Ask to donate some money to someone who doesn't have family support.
• If you are looking for ideas for your group why not hold a fundraiser and donate the money to one of the Lifehouse Recovery in WV who take in those who want to recover on a by donation.
• OR At Christmas do a tree of gifts for those who may be in recovery without any family or support.
• Many local churches help feed the homeless. Give a donation or help them the next time they are serving the community.
• Many local churches also help the needy with utility bills. Donate a few extra dollars to a church for a needy family.

Just For Today: In a perfect world no one would suffer. Today I choose the path of selflessness.
