"You praise your children, your friends, your co-workers, and your spouse whenever they accomplish something praiseworthy, so why not give yourself a one minute praising for all of your accomplishments?
In doing so you're not being a braggart or egotistical when you acknowledge some wonderful task or a breakthrough you made during your day. You undoubtedly work very hard and probably accomplish much that no one but you recognizes.
If you finally played a piano libretto all the way through or found some ingenious way to increase the family budget, tell yourself how wonderfully brilliant and accomplished you are.
Bask in the glory of the moment. You deserve it!"
Some may say that in giving yourself a little praise that you are big headed and will be quick to offer criticism of you and Call you conceited.
Phooey!!! It is okay to give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done. Mother Theresa once said,
"The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow, do good anyway."
Just For Today: I will find one thing to praise myself for, and tell myself- good job.
