23 Million Americans are classified as dependent on heroin, opiates, pain killers and other forms of illicit drugs.
Of those 11 Million Americans are between the ages of 12 years old and 29 years of age.
Amazing huh?
90% of that 23 Million are NOT getting the treatment needed to overcome addiction due to the lack of beds and facilities to ...treat them which is our problem here in West Virginia.
85 Million Americans suffer also. This number is the parents, sons and daughters, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. The husbands and wives and friends who love someone addicted to drugs.
ALSO in this great country of ours
4,365 kids between the ages of 12 and 17 already use and abuse some form of illicit drug- daily.
2,466 kids between the ages of 12 and 17 already use and abuse heroin, opiates and other pain killers daily.
7,540 kids between the ages of 12 and 17 will try some form of an illicit drug- today.
And yet there is $374 Billion dollars?
Only 1.9% of that money goes for substance abuse, addiction, treatment and prevention.
Does that not really grind a nerve in you? If not, it should. Heroin IS NOT about political parties. Heroin doesn't care which political party anyone belongs to. Heroin does not care how you vote. Oh no Heroin in fact does not discriminate!!!!
